Swimming Mark burst onto the International swimming scene, at the age of 16, representing England at the 1986 Commonwealth Games, he went on to represent his country for 23 years and became Britain’s most decorated male swimmer.
Fitsteps was officially launched in January 2014 and is a fast growing fitness programme that is now available in towns and cities across the UK.TV appearances Mark’s likable and easy manner on screen has made him a popular media personality making him a regular participant on a host of TV shows such as Countdown, Question of Sport, Come Dine With Me, Who’s Doing the Dishes, Celebrity Masterchef, The Chase as well as a host of other charity shows and campaigns such as Sports Relief and Dancing on wheels.Following his retirement from competitive swimming, Mark entered ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ series six with dancer Hayley Holt.He is a patron of The Anaphylaxis Campaign, the UK charity for people with severe allergies and has supported the International Children’s Trust as well as the Dogs Trust , Battersea Dogs Home, Sports Aid.Mark is closely associated with the children’s charity Wellchild and hosts an annual golf day on their behalf and in total has raised over 250K for their work..
